First, let’s talk about what bumps are. Bumps can be small or large, flesh-colored or red, painful or painless. They can be filled with pus or fluid. They can be itchy or not itchy. They can appear on the vulva, vagina, anus, or in the creases of your skin.

Read on, while I walk you through five reasons why you do have bumps down there.

1). Having bumps on your vagina could be a result of the "HAIR REMOVAL METHOD" you practice.

Bumps can occur after shaving, waxing, or epilating i.e due to the particular genital hair removal method you use. The hair can grow back into the skin, causing bumps and irritation. If you notice bumps after hair removal, try switching to a different method or more comfortably you can trim it.

2). Bumps could be a result of "SCABIES". Genital bumps could also be a sign that you have scabies, which is a skin condition caused by tiny mites that burrow into the skin and lay eggs. If you have scabies, you will notice a rash of small bumps that are extremely itchy. If you think you may have scabies, see a doctor for treatment.

Symptoms of scabies include intense itchiness, rash, and bumps

3). In some cases, bumps may be caused because you are having an allergic reaction to a "FEMININE PRODUCT" that you use such as new soap, lotion, detergent, Pads, or Tempon. If you notice bumps after using a new product, stop using it and see if the bumps go away.  You may be allergic to them that's why your skin is reacting.

4). Bumps could also be a sign that you are having a "SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS STI" such as Genital warts, Genital Herpes, Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea can all cause bumps.

5). Lastly, bumps can as a result of "CANCER".

There are a few ways that cancer can cause bumps on a woman's body, including on the vulva. One way is through direct growth of the tumor on the vulva. This can cause a mass or lump to form. Cancer can also cause bumps on the vulva by spreading to the lymph nodes in the area. This can cause the lymph nodes to swell and become enlarged.

If you are concerned about bumps on your genitalia, you should see a doctor for an evaluation.

In Conclusion

Bumps around the genital area are common and in most cases, bumps will go away on their own with time. To help speed up the process, you can try a few at-home treatments, such as

- Changing your hair removal method.

- Practicing proper hygiene.

- Check your genital routine.

Most bumps require treatment from  Doctors, so if bumps persist, you should see your doctor to rule out any other potential causes and place you on timely treatment.
