DANGERS OF KISSING!
DANGERS OF KISSING!
Not knowing who you are kissing could be as dangerous to your health the same way it is dangerous for you to have multiple sexual partners. To protect yourself, know the person you are kissing. And please dear lovely parent, do not allow your new miracle (baby) to be kissed by anyone, protect them from the deadly disease they could contract. Don't claim you know the person, even when you know the person who you are kissing, you probably don't know the disease they are carrying inside them because "People can look as healthy as you can be, but you have no idea what kind of diseases they are carrying inside".
Diseases can be classified as "Communicable and Non Communicable disease".
INFECTION AND DISEASES YOU CAN GET FROM KISSING:
1) COLD SORES: This is a very common and ignored disease that are caused by the herpes virus. To identify this disease, you would notice a tiny, clear, fluid-filled blisters that form around the mouth and lips. The sores are highly contagious, especially if they are leaking fluid. However, even if the sores have been scabbed over it can be contagious too.
I want you to know that "A wound near the lips is most often herpes".
2) GLANDULAR FEVER (MONONUCLEOSIS): This is known as the kissing disease. Yes there is something called the kissing disease and a lot of youths, teenagers and babies do contract this sadly. Glandular fever is the common term for a viral infection called infectious mononucleosis, caused by a virus called Epstein-Barr virus. The virus is spread through saliva and infection occurs through direct contact.
3) COLDS: This is also known as upper respiratory tract infections(URTI) . Many different viruses can cause the common cold. Colds are thought to be spread by direct contact with the virus. You could catch the cold from airborne droplets or by direct contact with secretions (fluids and mucous) from the infected person’s nose and throat; if you practice the Eskimo and open mouth kissing you also at a risk of this infection.
CAUTION: Avoid kissing when you notice the person have cough or fever . Otherwise, kissing could mean you get a strep or staph bacterial infection, or in some cases, a cold or the flu (although you're actually more likely to contract those from inhaling the particles an infected person expels when they cough, since germs suspended in the air are more likely to be inhaled deep into the respiratory passage.
4) HEPATITIS B AND OTHER VIRUS BORNE DISEASES LIKE HIV: Remember people may look as healthy as you are but you can't only facially detect if a person has a disease. You've probably Hepatitis B is a killer disease, yes it is. I really bless God who had been so faithful to lots of us because the means of getting this disease is very easy when exposed to it. Hmm, that why as parents you really need to be strict when it comes to your new born's health, learn good hand hygiene even as parents don't allow strangers kiss your babies.
5) MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE: This is a potentially life-threatening condition which includes meningitis, inflammation of the membranes (meninges) that surround the brain and spinal cord, and septicaemia. These bacteria can be spread either through direct contact or via droplets. Studies show that, with respect to kissing, only deep kissing seems to be a risk factor. For babies this disease is a big threat to their health and some end up dying.
6) GINGIVITIS AND CAVITIES: Gingivitis is a gum disease with inflammation of the gums. On inspection, the gums will appear red and puffy, and will usually bleed during tooth-brushing or dental examination. While, Cavities are holes or structural damage in the two outer layers of a tooth called the enamel and the dentin. Cavities are caused by bacteria in the mouth. Small cavities may not cause pain, and may be unnoticed by the patient.
7) STIs (Sexually transmitted infection):
Don't go locking your lips with your partner when you notice they have high fever, cold, cough, cold sores, tooth cavities or gum injuries, that could be a risk factor of why you keep having some infections often and often. It would be best, you encourage them to get treatment and even properly examined those signs could be a red light for some serious health conditions.
Thank u so much
