YEAST INFECTION (GENITAL CANDIDIASIS INTRO)
GENITAL YEAST INFECTION
Yeast infection can be so uncomfortable. It makes you restless, irritated and tired–especially when it keeps coming back even after you’ve treated it.
In fact, 3 out of 4 ladies would experience this once in their life time.
Just imagine being invited to an event, and while you are on stage giving a speech, you suddenly feel an intense desire to itch your vulva. You try to ignore it, but the itch just won’t stop. At that point, it might even disorganize your thoughts, and you find yourself rushing through your speech just to run to the restroom. This infection is both embarrassing and exhausting.
Let me give you another example:
A lady once said, that when hers starts, she uses a comb to scratch it. Yes–a comb! She said the more she scratches, the more intense the itch becomes. Just imagine what we women go through.
And that’s why on this blog, you are going to learn about: “What exactly is a yeast infection, including its symptoms.”
WHAT IS YEAST INFECTION?
A yeast infection is a fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of a fungus called Candida albicans.
If you’ve ever gone for a test and they wrote Candida albicans, it means you have a yeast infection.
Ladies, please understand this:
Yeast infection is not caused by bacteria–so no amount of antibiotics will cure it. This is one of the hidden truths about yeast infection that most women don’t know.
SYMPTOMS INCLUDE:
- Itching (which most of us already know).
- thick, white, clumpy (cottage-cheese-like) discharge
- Burning sensation during sex or while urinating.
- Redness and swelling of the vulva.
- Vagina dryness.
- Pain
- Some women even perceive a yeasty or bread like odor.
Note: These symptoms can mimic other infections, which is why yeast infection is often misdiagnosed or mistreated.
- What things expose you to yeast infection.
- How to eliminate it if you are currently dealing with it, and finally, how to protect yourself from recurring yeast infection.
